I love it! 😃
Priceless, isn't it? It's their signature solo.
Watching this makes me reminisce of Reda drumming at the workshop, and all the fun we had... ! 😃
Thank you so much for posting this dance gold! Watching it lifted my spirits after scrolling through Instagram, bringing me back with what is real and true.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you. The style before was VERY different from where the dance has evolved to now. It's important to remember the roots.
100% Gypsies
How do you know these women are Roma?
I should have been there with them! This makes me feel like drumming. 😃
This is nothing compared to the album :)
Truly fantastic work, but why are the zils played like castanets? Middle-eastern zils are not played like Flamenco castanets. I was wondering if she is doing a fusion as these are not middle-eastern rhythms or style of finger cymbals.
I am confused as to why you think she is playing her finger cymbals like castanets. Because she uses "doubles" instead of "triplets"? The fingerwork of castanets is very different... The thumb is steady and the fingers tap against the wood. Here, thumb and middle finger meet together.
@@SerpentineVideo Of course, she can't tap the finger cymbals as would with castanets, but the frequency of the rhythmic tempo and sound is similar. Middle-Eastern zils don't have to be triples. There are many patterns as well as the particular rhythms in Middle-eastern zilling. I don't recognize anything other than continuous rolls. That's why I was posing that question. It is fantastic, beautiful, soundfull, but not traditional Middle-eastern Oriental dance based. So, is it a special style/fusion/artistic choice?
Wow
Than you!
A Celebration!! images together with the music gives goose bumps! thank you so much
Happy you liked it, thank you.
wonderful!!!
Wonderful and informative
Glad you liked it, thank you.
Great documentary! Correction though: The world's oldest flute (to my knowledge) was found a couple of years ago in 2006 in Southern Germany: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hohle_Fels and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleolithic_flutes I went to the cave where it was found and to the museum, where the flutes are shwon, and exapmples of how beautiful they sounded, can be heard. Very recommendable!
Wow, fantastic zils work! You're amazing!
